Stummschalten machst du in deiner Telefonie.

7. Create one clip

Choose Record your first clip, then Record. Say a short sentence and choose Stop recording. Choose Listen to clip. Give the clip a name and choose Save. Record again or Discard starts over.

Expected result: Your first clip is saved. One clip is enough for the test call.

Start with Record your first clip. Then Record and Stop recording.

After stopping, wait for recording processing to finish. Naming and Save appear as soon as listening has started; there is no tick box to confirm it. If your first clip is already saved, choose Listen to clip when the app asks.

While you record a clip, ROYVIRA pauses forwarding and resumes it afterwards. Choose headphones for local listening. Hearing the clip locally does not confirm it reaches your call.

Something is not working

I cannot hear the recording.

Check microphone permission and the selected microphone. Check headphones and volume for listening. Record again if needed.

8. Set up your calling app

In your calling app, choose BlackHole 2ch as microphone and your headphones as speakers. If your app is in the list, the How to do it in… button opens the matching guide.

Expected result: Your calling app uses the BlackHole input. Next, check whether voice and clips arrive in a test call.

General route: BlackHole 2ch as microphone, headphones as speakers.

ROYVIRA does not change these settings for you. This general guide also covers Other app… and providers not individually tested. Menu names may differ.

Something is not working

BlackHole is not offered.

Check installation and restart. Reopen your calling app afterwards. If it cannot select this input, ask its IT team or support. A catalog entry does not promise compatibility.

I call in a browser.

Allow microphone access for the calling site. Check device selection in the site and, if it uses the browser’s default microphone, in browser settings too. Reopen the site after changes.

There is echo or system audio.

Do not choose BlackHole as Mac or calling speakers. Use headphones and stop additional forwarding in other apps.

9. Check voice and clip

Start the call in your calling app, to a test partner or your phone, and choose Play clip in test call. Ask them to confirm voice and clip. Tick The other person heard me and the clip only when both arrive and the preview stayed local. Then choose Done.

Expected result: Done finishes the setup with a confirmed test call. If nobody is available to test with, choose Test later: the setup is complete, and in the soundboard the note Test call still open. reminds you.

Done is ready only after the tick. Test later finishes without a test call.

From now on ROYVIRA starts with your Mac and runs in the menu bar. The orange dot shows that your microphone is passed to your calling app.

There is no on/off switch: while ROYVIRA runs, the other person hears you and your clips. The status line in the soundboard shows this. Mute yourself in your calling app.

Closing the window with the red button keeps ROYVIRA running. If you quit ROYVIRA, the other person cannot hear you until you open ROYVIRA again. Change starting with your Mac in Settings under Open when your Mac starts.

In the soundboard, Test now opens this step directly; a confirmed test call removes the note.

Check voice alone, clip alone and both together. Stop clips ends clips while your voice stays in the call. Also check local listening: the other person must not hear that test. Repeat the test after changing devices or your calling app.

Something is not working

Only I hear the clip.

Local listening and call output are separate. Check the status line in the soundboard and BlackHole 2ch as your calling microphone.

The status line is red.

Choose Set up or Fix next to it. If it says Not connected, check your microphone, headphones and BlackHole 2ch.

The clip arrives, but my voice is missing.

Check whether you are muted in your calling app. Check the selected microphone and its macOS permission.

10. Set up shortcuts later

Open Settings → Shortcuts. Click the field next to a clip or Stop all clips and press the key.

Expected result: Saved appears right at the field. With Mac permission, shortcuts work even when ROYVIRA is in the background. The mouse always works.

Click the field and press the key.

During setup, ROYVIRA asks for this Mac permission with Allow…. You can skip the step and grant it later in Settings.

Shortcuts need only the Accessibility permission: choose Open Accessibility … and allow ROYVIRA in System Settings. If ROYVIRA isn’t in the list, click “+” at the bottom, choose ROYVIRA in Applications and turn it on. The shortcuts then start by themselves. If macOS needs a restart, choose Restart ROYVIRA.

Esc cancels the entry. The × removes a shortcut. Stop all clips uses F12 by default; on Apple keyboards, press it with fn.

The keyboard picture in Settings shows how: Hold fn, then press F1. External keyboard without an fn key: press F1 directly.

Only one clip plays at a time. Use the tile or shortcut of a playing clip again to stop it. A new clip stops the playing one. The queue plays one after another.

Something is not working

The shortcut does nothing.

Check that Mac permission is granted. If the key is already used or belongs to your Mac, choose another. Use the tile with your mouse meanwhile.

My clip editor is still open.

Close this clip’s editor first, then set the shortcut again.

Menus and shortcuts

The Mac menu bar gives you new clips (⌘N), import (⌘O), Settings (⌘,), Library (⌘2), Help and About ROYVIRA. ⌘. stops all clips. ⌘W closes the current window. If you close the main window, also with the red button, ROYVIRA keeps running in the menu bar. ⌘Q quits ROYVIRA; a notice comes first, because the other person then cannot hear you until you open ROYVIRA again. Save or explicitly discard unsaved clips and shortcut changes first. Saving reports duplicate shortcuts and reserved Mac combinations.

In call mode, the editor preview plays only through the headphones from “Set up call audio”, not into the call. Stop preview and closing its editor stop only the preview. Stop clips ends clips, preview and the queue. External audio mixing can still forward the preview.

Use your clips

A tile's context menu lets you edit or queue its clip, or clear the tile. The Library also keeps clips without a tile. Removed clips stay in Trash and can be restored. Audio is not permanently deleted automatically.

Shortcuts are optional. Using them in other apps requires the macOS input permission. Your mouse works without it. Keep an easy-to-reach Stop clips shortcut.

Only one clip at a time

Two clips never play at the same time. This applies to tiles and shortcuts.

Stop clips ends playing and loading clips and clears the queue. The editor preview does not count as a clip in the call.

Send voice and clips into a call

Guided call mode mixes your live microphone and board clips into BlackHole 2ch. It needs no additional mixer or manually created aggregate device. In your calling app select BlackHole 2ch as microphone/input and your headphones as speaker/output. If you call in a browser, allow the calling site microphone access. Reopen the calling app if new devices are missing. Do not select BlackHole as the Mac or phone output: this can feed system audio or the other person's voice back into the call.

If your calling app uses Chrome’s default microphone: Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Microphone → BlackHole 2ch. Check any separate device selection in your calling app as well. ROYVIRA does not change these settings. Chrome device and permission help.

There is no switch to turn it on or off. After the setup, ROYVIRA always passes your voice on while it runs. The status line in the soundboard shows the state: “Ready for calls: the other person hears you and your clips.” If it is red, choose Set up or Fix next to it. Stop clips / your assigned shortcut stops clips, previews and the queue while your voice stays in the call. Mute yourself in your calling app. The call itself belongs to your calling app; ROYVIRA does not hang up.

Editor and library previews stay local in guided mode. While you record a clip, forwarding pauses by itself; the status line then shows “Recording: the other person cannot hear you right now.” Afterwards it resumes by itself. Set microphone volume under Details; clip volume does not change it. Too loud means you should reduce the corresponding source level.

ROYVIRA starts with your Mac and runs in the menu bar. Closing the window with the red button keeps ROYVIRA running. If you quit ROYVIRA, the other person cannot hear you until you open ROYVIRA again. Change starting with your Mac in Settings under Open when your Mac starts. If a device is missing, the status line shows “Not connected: the other person cannot hear you right now.”; ROYVIRA does not choose a fallback. Check the connection or choose Change headphones or microphone… in Settings. With a test partner you choose, check voice alone, clips alone, both together, Stop clips and local preview. Confirm only what was actually heard. Other apps can also send to BlackHole; stop unwanted forwarding.

Installation not completed: Opening the installer is not proof of success. Without administrator approval you can work locally and retry later. Cancel the pending request in “Set up call audio” after closing the macOS installer. Save your work and restart if required. Download a fresh ROYVIRA copy if its package is damaged. Unknown or newer drivers are never replaced with an older version automatically.

Troubleshooting

Levels, search and trimmed copies

The microphone meter follows the current signal during recording. Too loud means the signal is reaching the digital limit: lower the microphone level or speak more softly and record again if needed. The meter does not change the recording and does not replace listening back.

Search the library by clip name and combine the search with All, Unassigned, Trash or Recovery. Clear removes only your search text. A search with no matches keeps the current filter. Permanent cleanup of recovered files is hidden during a search so it cannot remove files hidden by the search.

In the clip editor, open Trim start and end. Choose the start and end in seconds, then Preview range. Save trimmed copy creates a new clip in the library, keeping the original and its tiles unchanged. The copy has no shortcut; assign it to a tile when ready. The new file is WAV in the app playback format (48 kHz stereo), with boundaries rounded to complete audio frames. This feature does not add effects or automatically remove pauses.

Get help with a diagnostic report

Open Help → Diagnostic report. Review the preview, then copy or save it if needed. It contains app/system version, architecture, permission and device availability, and up to 40 sanitized error identifiers, plus audio-component version, call status and bounded-buffer counters. Custom device names, clip names, recordings, emails, file paths and credentials are excluded. Nothing is uploaded automatically. Support opens the contact route; describe your steps, what you expected and what happened. Do not share sign-in codes or recordings.

Updates

ROYVIRA checks for updates in the background while it is open. Turn automatic checks off in Settings or check manually at any time with ROYVIRA → Check for Updates. A new version appears with its release notes. You choose whether to update or continue later.

While clips, a preview or the queue play, ROYVIRA postpones update prompts and restarts. Before installation, stop playback and recording, finish active operations and save or discard open changes. Forwarding your voice does not hold back an update. While ROYVIRA is closed for the update, the other person cannot hear you. ROYVIRA never restarts without your approval. Normal updates preserve clips, settings and sign-in. After changing the app language, update windows may keep the previous language until the next launch.

Version 1.0.1 does not include an updater. Install the first version with updates manually from royvira.com once. Run ROYVIRA from Applications, not from the mounted installer image. Manual download remains available when in-app updates are unavailable.

Your data

ROYVIRA is provided by GHQI d.o.o. The app processes live voice, microphone recordings and imported audio locally on your Mac. Live forwarding creates no voice file and uploads no audio to ROYVIRA servers. Your chosen calling app handles the call transmission. The Supabase account service processes your email address, user ID, profile name, optional company and role, access status and technical request information during sign-in and access checks. Google sign-in also involves Google.

When saving through profile contract v2, your calling app answer also forms part of your account profile. Other app contains the app name you entered (trimmed, at most 120 Unicode characters). The calling app helps with setup. ROYVIRA does not ask about a CRM at the moment; your account profile stores “prefer not to say” or an earlier answer instead. If you enter your mobile number and tick the box, ROYVIRA stores it in your account profile so GHQI can send you the community invitation. The app keeps the latest confirmed profile bound to its account in macOS Keychain. Signing out removes this local profile copy while keeping clips. Profile answers are not part of clip backups. Help links contain at most a public calling-catalog ID, language and step, never names, company, CRM or free-text answers.

Sign-in credentials and the latest access receipt are kept in macOS Keychain. Access is checked at startup and periodically during use. Signing out removes the locally stored account access; it does not delete your clips or server account. Global keyboard capture processes shortcuts for app control; ROYVIRA does not store or transmit typed text.

For access to or export of your profile data, corrections or account deletion requests, open Contact and support. State your ROYVIRA account email and request. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or voice recordings. Support must verify account ownership; sending a request does not itself delete data. The website privacy information covers the website and contact processing described there.

Licenses and use

ROYVIRA contains software under GNU GPL version 3 or later and other open-source components. Full license texts and attribution notices are included in the app under Contents/Resources/Assets/Doc. The corresponding source package accompanies delivery.

Data recovery and cleanup

If ROYVIRA cannot safely read a data file, it keeps that file protected. The recovery window names the affected file. Open the data folder, restore a valid backup or explicitly confirm starting that file fresh. The original is preserved in recovery before replacement. Audio files are not removed.

Library → Review audio files can recover playable unlinked files. Clean up unused audio files shows their count and size before permanent deletion. Linked clips, Trash files and open recordings stay protected. Before shrinking the grid, ROYVIRA shows how many tile assignments will be removed; the clips remain in your Library.

A small rotating diagnostic log stays local. It contains app version, system, technical operation and error type, without account data, clip names, audio content or full file paths. Update checks request information from the download server, which receives the usual technical connection data. ROYVIRA does not send recordings or an additional system profile through this channel.

Back up and restore

Open File → Back up and restore. Stop recording and playback first, save drafts and close other app windows. Create backup saves your library, Trash, board, shortcuts, settings and referenced audio in a .royvira-backup file. Older external audio references are embedded too; missing or damaged files cause an error. Unrecovered audio files and unsaved drafts are not included. Sign-in, Keychain, diagnostic logs and local installer/restart state are not exported. After restore, set up call audio again and check your audio devices.

Keep the file private, preferably on another drive. The archive is not encrypted. Restore backup first checks the complete archive and shows its clip count. Only after your confirmation does ROYVIRA quit. Open it again to replace your clips and settings while keeping your existing sign-in. Check your audio devices again, especially when moving to a different Mac. Restoring does not merge libraries.

If replacement is interrupted, ROYVIRA attempts to restore the previous data on the next launch. If startup fails, keep the data folder and backup file intact and contact support. After a successful restore, the previous data remains in .restore-<identifier>/previous inside the data folder. To revert manually: quit ROYVIRA, first make a separate complete copy of the current data folder, then replace only sounds, options.json, soundclips.json and their existing .bak files with the matching components from previous. Keep account data and other folders intact. Ask support to help if needed.

Move to another Mac or remove the app

Create a backup, install ROYVIRA on the new Mac and restore it there. Sign in separately on that Mac. To uninstall, quit ROYVIRA and remove the app from Applications. Clips and settings remain in the local data folder ~/Library/Application Support/ROYVIRA; open the exact folder from Settings.

To remove local data too, first back up any clips you need, sign out in ROYVIRA, quit the app and move the explicitly selected data folder to Trash. Resolve a failed sign-out first; simply removing the app does not delete a Keychain entry. Browser sessions and the server account are separate. For account deletion, use the support route under Your data.

Removing ROYVIRA does not remove BlackHole, which other apps may share. Before separately uninstalling it, switch your phone input back to your headset and follow the manufacturer’s uninstall instructions.
