OPENER · COLD CALLING

Your cold call opener. Recorded once.

A cold call opener says who you are and why you are calling. You always say the greeting live. ROYVIRA then supports you in the call with your pitch and your answers to objections. You record your best opener once in your own voice and start it with one key, F2 for example.

Why the opener matters so much

In the first seconds of a cold call, the other person decides whether to listen. A clear opener states your name, your company and your reason for calling, without a long lead-in.

The problem is rarely the text. You have phrased it carefully. The hard part is saying it equally clearly, calmly and kindly all day long. By the fiftieth call, the same line often sounds different from the morning.

Capture your best moment

With ROYVIRA you record your opener once. On your best day, in your best voice. Record it with your headset right in the app, listen, name it and save it. It then sits as a tile on your soundboard.

If you do not like a take, record it again. Until the emphasis and pace are right.

On the call: one key, your opener plays

You can give every clip its own key, F2 for your opener, for example. Press it or click, and the other person hears your own voice. Then you listen and respond live.

  • You always say the greeting live.
  • Start your opener with F2.
  • Listen and respond to the reaction.
  • If needed, choose the next clip: pitch, objection answer or meeting suggestion.

Text ideas for your opener

These examples are prompts for your own recording. Adapt them to your offer and your way of speaking.

  • Reason for calling: “I’m calling because we help sales teams with appointment setting.”
  • Question to reception: “Who would be the right person to talk to about your sales process?”
  • After a transfer, once you have introduced yourself live: “Thank you for taking a moment.”

How to record your opener

A good recording needs no equipment beyond your headset. A few points still help.

  • While you record, ROYVIRA pauses forwarding and resumes it by itself afterwards.
  • In “Set up call audio”, check that your actually connected microphone is selected.
  • Speak the way you speak on a call, not the way you read aloud.
  • Listen to the take before you save it, and give it a clear name.
  • Leave room at the end for the other person to respond.

Several openers, one soundboard

Do you call different audiences? Create a separate version for each. One idea per clip makes selection easier. Arrange the tiles the way you need them during the call.

Test your opener with a test partner before real calls. That way you hear how it comes across on the other end.

Free for your Mac

ROYVIRA's current feature set will stay free permanently. You need a Mac with macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cold call opener?

The first line of substance: who you are, which company you are with and why you are calling. It helps decide whether the other person keeps listening.

How long should an opener be?

Short enough that the other person quickly understands what it is about. One idea per clip makes selection easier during a call.

Can I prepare several openers?

Yes. Each opener becomes its own tile, and you can give it its own shortcut. That way you choose the right version for each audience.

Will the other person notice a clip is playing?

Your contact hears recordings of your own voice.

How do I start if I do not have an opener yet?

Record an answer to a common objection first, such as “Send me some information”. One of your own clips is enough to get started. Add the opener once you have phrased it.
