Quick-start guide

Your first clip. Step by step.

A preview of the workflow, from recording to your first test call.

  1. Choose a short phrase.

Start with a greeting or an explanation you use often. One idea per clip makes it easier to find the right phrase during a conversation.

  2. Record your voice.

Choose your microphone in the recording window, say the phrase and listen back. Give the clip a clear name, such as “A quick hello”.

  3. Add the clip to your soundboard.

Assign the recording from your library to a soundboard slot. Note its keyboard shortcut and try starting and stopping playback outside a call first.

  4. Set up audio for your calling app.

Playing a clip through your speakers alone does not send it to the other person. A separate audio setup is required, for example using a virtual audio device. The appropriate inputs and outputs depend on your calling app and microphone.

  5. Test your complete setup.

Before using it in a real conversation, make a test call. Check that your live voice and the clip are clear, the volume is right and you can stop playback. Then adapt your clips to the way you make calls.
